Wow!!! Sweet job. How long did it take? Any special tools required? I can't wait to see the cutoff and beam pattern it throws. Where did you buy them? Any pics of you moding the headlamp?

It took about 20 hours with two people, also had to go back and forth to lowes a couple times to get all the materials... i have a big gallery of pics which will be up later tonight and i will post a link. A dremel was used to do 95% of all the cutting/sanding/drilling. Also the high beam on it isnt currently working since this is a bixenon projector; i think the resistor on the harness is part of the problem, but ill save that for another weekend..

i bought the projectors/ballasts/bulbs from a guy on hidplanet.com's forum.

Geese.....that's a big job. Good job on it though, it looks sharp. Whenever you get the time could you post a list of the parts you had to buy or use? You'd cut down the time for me to do the install and I'd greatly appreciate it!....any price tag on what this mod cost you?

Thanks again for the documentation of your project! It takes gutts to be the first to pioneer an HID retrofit.

So you bought new OEM headlamps instead of using the ones your truck came with?

Yeah good idea on that one. I might do that with the OEM lamps that are blacked out, since that is a pretty cool look. Though I'm going for a chrome and black motif for the truck. HIDPLANET is doing the Infiniti Q45 gattling gun projectors...which could quite possible look bad ***...especially if it takes up the entire light, instead of just part of it like yours does. But then again if those projectors fit into the headlamp with little modification, then it'd be a better idea to go the route you did. Anyone thought about the headlamps that have projectors built into them? I know they'd probably look a little "ricey" but how would they perform with an HID setup? And would the fit and finish be better?

Problem with alot of aftermarket projectors is the size of the hope for the projector lens. If they are at least 2.25" in diameter, you can retrofit Valeo(A4) or Bosch(3-Series) projectors easily.

Nice to see a retrofit completed. Still looks a tad bit unfinished but its fine. The output at night is amazing and you will never be able to go back to halogens.
