Check out the new ride!!!

Well, we traded in the '04 Sport Trac yesterday. We got a '05 Screw XLT, 5.4L, towing package, and factory Roush wheels. Got a smokin deal under invoice. Let me know what yall think.. I haven't seen any on here with the factory 20's.

Have to go to the dealer to check a couple of things:
1) Tires seem out of balance. slight wheel shimmy at 65-70. could be that they didn't get to do a full prep on the truck since it was at their warehouse that they keep their new inventory at (hadn't made it to the lot yet).
2) Strange paint scuffs about 1/8" wide along the trailing edge of the drivers door. Strange thing is that it is on the passengers door too. I buffed them and they look better, but not perfect.
3) After my first wash I noticed a dull spot in the paint in the middle of one of the doors, after waxing it mostly went away, but I still think that I can see it.

Thanks for looking!!!

Check gallery for shots...didn't realize they don't allow you to imbed images.

that tire shimmy thing could be "the vibe"

you should read up on it in the event you need to have a warranty repair.

Congrats on the new truck!

Yeah...I have read a couple of threads about "vibe" but there are so many pages worth, and seems like there are many conflicting ideas.

So what's the most recent synopsis of the problem?

The only reason why I would suspect the balance of the tires is that it causes the steering wheel to shake at a specific speed. I would think if it was a misbalance driveshaft, then I would feel a whole truck vibration, not just the steering wheel...but I could be wrong, just my impression of driving it for 200miles.

Cheers

Thanks for the props guys! Yeah, I am sure that I won't put a drop on the truck. Mainly because it is my wife's vehicle. The wife always gets the best ride, many married men should be able to attest to this. I get to drive the '97 Cadillac Deville and the '90 300ZX. I decided to upgrade so that I could get something that I knew would pull the boat out of the lake. The 'Trac was a one-legger, and this one has limited slip, etc. So I decided to trade, only $75/month more, it was a no-brainer. I definately got a good deal on this one.

Bill make your wife drive one of the others. Its a mans world when it comes to the truck...................ok so I'm fooling myself. My wife puts twice the miles on our F150. Nice ride you have there. Have the wheels rebalanced. I think that will take care of that problem but try to convince your wife that you need to test it over the next couple of weeks
