If you are talking about getteing Ford OE wheels for the 04, 17" will fit. You just can't buy wheels made for previous model year trucks as they are 5 lug and yours are 6 lug. I have 18" wheels with the OE tires, and 17" with BFG ATs for the winter.

Yes, 17's will fit the 04-05. Just think about it. Why would a wheel manufacturer produce a 17 inch wheel in the 6x135mm bolt pattern if they would not fit the only vehicles with that bolt pattern?

I think he was worried if he bought wheels that were from a 05' they wouldn't fit on his 04 because of the changes. Thus meaning he needed to find a 04' set. I think anyways.

I put the standard FX4 17 inch wheel back on my truck and it tows better and rides better. The only change I know of between the 04 and 05 is that on the 05 wheels they stopped putting the index hole in them for the center cap to fit in. The index pin on the center cap is cut off so that it will fit any way you snap it on.

I need to sell them as a set, I have no use for the tires which are Michelin with low milage, sorry. If you are still interested, $300 for the set and you pay for shipping.
