4.10 and 4.56 gears!!!

I have been reading about changing gears and have realized that a lot of guys are having a hard time finding gears. Especially the 4.10 and 4.56. Well I think I have found them. Part number

M-4209-J410 is for the 4.10

M-4209-J456 is for the 4.56

Let me know if this is correct cause I am contemplating over them as well. I didnt get a price either. Hope this helps.

Are Ford gears made by Genuine (w/ a Ford logo stamp)? I also don't think it was an issue of the gears not being out...more of a back order problem, at least for the 4.56 & 4.88's.

Couple important things to add here....

Ford Racing may list those gears on the website, but try actually ordering them. If you call Ford Racing directly, they will tell you that there isn't even a retail price set yet for the 4.10 and 4.56 gears for the 9.75. The morons just put the part numbers up on the website without actually having the parts even available.

Additionally, I know for a fact that 4.30 and lower gears for the 8.8 rear are NOT OE ford gears. Ford Racing uses Richmond gears after you pass 4.10 on the 8.8 diff, so I would guess that the 4.56 is NOT an original equipment OE gear, but the 4.10 should be. Seeing how it is now a factory option on the 05 5.4 trucks.

Maybe it was a screw-up with the Ford website, but about 1-2 months ago I went and built a F-150 w/ 5.4L and 4WD and 4.10 gears were an option. As of right now, I cannot duplicate that now, but I'm still playing with the website.

Still nothing. I know 100% that when I built it, 4.10s were available as an option, and I know I didn't select the 7700 GWV package. Must have been an issue with the website. DAMN FORD!

You know it would be an expensive eperiment but... I think if run 35's and the 4:10's you would have decent gas mileage (of course relative to our vehicles) and probably a lot more enjoyable truck.. I would even say this with 33" tires.

The last two real trucks I had had 4:10's and they got 15 mpg and the biggest tire they had on them were 31's , an 80' Chevy and a 68' Dodge.

Just thinking out loud. If I went with the Rancho 4", 35" tires, 4:10 gears, and an Xcal 2 I would consider this "MY" perfect set-up. I would almost bet my gas mileage would still hover 15 and it would be a damn blast to drive.

With 35" tires, I would at the minimum use 4.56 gears. That is, if you are switching the gears out and not getting 4.10's from stock.

Man...I'd like 4:10 gears in my truck....these 3:55's kill the power. Even with all of my mods (which have made quite a difference) you can still feel the engine struggling to wind up.

Im pretty sure Im going to use 4.56s with both 35s and 37s. I still haven't made up my mind about which tire size I want.

Those gears are only optional on SCab Longbed with 5.4, and payload package. XL with work truck group.
