Anyone know what their truck weighs?

I weighed my truck today and it is 5600 lbs. That’s with a full tank of gas no occupants or extra gear. Now according to Ford specifications the GVWR for a Screw with the 138.5” wheelbase, 4x2 & 54.L engine is 7050lbs. That number is on the white sticker on the driver-side door pillar also. So, what’s the scoop? Is 7050 lbs the total max weight with six occupants and the bed loaded?

Gross Vehicle Weight is total weight of the vehicle plus cargo.

Vehicle weight + passengers/cargo + 1/2 ton = max of 7050 Lbs

With seating for six (six seatbelts) that number could be 1200 lbs plus with large adults and then you still have room in the bed for cargo. I can’t figure it out but I’m pretty sure the weigh station I used today was accurate; it was Sorensen Moving & Storage Co., Inc.

5500-5600 sounds right for your truck... that is if mine weighs 4900-5000

I just dont understand the GVWR, GWAR, GXXX whaterer ratings that ford puts on these trucks.

That's only if you actually load 1,000 lbs in the bed.

truck + people + gas + inside cargo + bed cargo = max 7,050 lbs.

In your case (assuming you weigh 200 lbs):

7,050 max - 5,600 (truck and gas) - 200 (you) = 1,250 total cargo

That's extra people, suitcases, bed cargo, etc.
As long as all cargo is 1,250 lbs, the total will be 7,050 lbs.

Clear as mud???

GVWR is Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, with the operative part being "gross." That's the total of everything.

Mine weighted in at 6260lbs. That was with a 1/4 tank of gas and me. But then again my truck is a supercrew 4x4 5.4 lifted on 35"s with a stereo system. (subwoofers/box weight adds up quickly.)
