The CD-6, yes. MP3 capability wasn't available until the '05s.

thats stinks because I was trying to figure out whether or not to buy a factory 6disc/mp3 player from Ebay. But then I heard bad stories about the 6 disc players getting ruined when shipped and was trying to figure out if something ever did happen whether or not I would be able to go to my dealer and see if I can get factory work done on it.. Thanks

I bought a CD-6/MP3 head unit from EBay out of an '05 F150, plugged right up in my '04 Lariat.

The auction was so long ago, no, unfortunately I don't remember who I got it from, but I do remember it was from a private seller, not one of those "power sellers" or EBay stores or something like that. Some guy bought an aftermarket head unit and speakers and stuff.

It works like a champ, except for some hard copy CDs that it won't play, although the head unit might need to be sent for repair for that, I think there's a TSB floating around for that on '05s that originally had the CD-6/MP3. Also, my steering wheel controls don't exactly work as before with the single CD player. The "SEEK" button now scans through all the stations instead of through my presets like it did before. But the MP3 function works great.

well it sounds like it works alot better than the other stories I have heard. I dont have the sterring wheel controls so I dont have to deal with that. The scan or seek button I dont really use.. Well I think I might take the chance at getting one now.. Do you remember how much you paid for yours? Thank you for your help I really appreciate it..

$230, if I remember right, the auction started at around $150ish. I remember there were like four or five more that other folks were selling, but none of them topped $250.

I don't know. 05hotf150 says his works; I know that the '05+ Mustang head units run off the SCP network and require programming with a scan tool to work when replaced, in a Mustang at least. Mine was from an '05 F150 and was plug and play.

I got the audiophile mp3 cd-6 from e-bay. $300 shipped. The sellers name i belive is ford f150 parts or something to that effect. It still had the plastic on the screen and was easy to install. works great and looks as if it came with the truck. I think the dealer wanted $700-800 I don't remember the EXACT amount but was definitely double or more that what I bought it for. Some guys will buy the truck and immediately swap it out for an full system. Alpine or Kenwood with navigation in such. Dealers also will swap out stereos, wheels or do lifts to make the vehicle more appealing while making extra money on the mods(overpricing them). I am happy with mine. This was 7 months ago. Good luck.

I sold and bought a total of four 6 disc changers on eBay. Unfourtunately, all were damaged in shipping, and insurance had to be filed. I double boxed two of them in bubble wrap, and 6 inches of Styrofoam peanuts. FYI
