Mine just made it in today. I am installing them tonight as I ordered my 285 BFG's which were in stock for tomorrow I am setting the collar half way since they do not include spanner wrenches to adjust it while mounted. I will have to find some so I can adjust it once on the vehicle.

I got mine today. I wish I could do the front my self but it is cold and wet hear in the Midwest. I do not know if you can adjust them after they are on. I thought that rancho said it could not be done. If the spanner wrench does work let me know. Good luck and we will both be level now. By the way, have found a good place for the controller? I thought about under my cup holder, where there is a small filler plate. If you have a better place please post it.

I just noticed that my front shocks return when I push them down and my backs do not. Is this normal for the 9000?

did a search on Summit's website for them, part #RS99768, and it came up at $193.39 each. You may want to double check your part number

Wait a minute.... One place is charging $103 and another $193. Are we sure were talking about the same shock. ??

All I know was I paid $575 front and rear total with the free in-cab kit which is a $150 savings

For anyone who wants to tackle this install themselves, have two sets of nice spring compressors, and air tools are a must to make it safe. It helps to use all four at a time. By myself in 20 degree weather in my garage I just did the install in 3 hours taking my time. Well worth it. I gained 1.5 inches total height which is exactly what I was looking for, not bad for the first try Pics soon for yall in my gallery after I get my BFG's... I will post a new thread with reviews after everything is said and done. Thanks

No mistake on the price at $103 each. I've bought 2 sets at that price.
Yup,the shaft returned on it's own with both sets with the front ones. Slowly.
According to the tech at Rancho it's not reccomended to adjust the height after they're on without compressing the spring.
Had them installed on my son's Screw with 7200 GVWR package. I set them at 1 3/8" from the bottom of the threaded sleeve to the bottom of the collar and it came out with the front 1" lower in the front than the back at the fender well.

Death 2004, my rear shocks do not return to the full out position when compressed, they are oil filled and I am pretty sure they are working as should. The front do however return to full out.

I am getting the skyjacker 3" lift and I wanted to run these tri tube mono flow design rancho 9000x shocks in the rear. Is this possible, I am having a hard time understanding the application guide and exactly which shocks I'd need. The kit raises 3" in the front w/ coilovers and 1.5-2" in the rear w/ add a leafs. Can I use the rancho shocks?

Does any one know if I can install the controller and fittings after the shocks are in. I do not have time to mess the the controller. I hate to have the shocks installed and then have to take them back out to put the controller fittings in.

Yes, that is not a problem to do afterwards. You may want to take off your tires, but as long as the dial is faced outwards you can do so.

You will want to find the RS9000's that are 0"-2" (something like that designed for mild lifts) lift for the rear. I am not sure of the part number, but there would be nothing stopping you from running them if you wanted. Their website is www.gorancho.com

Thanks! So these are supposed to be long enough if I get the ones made for I think it is listed as up to 2 1/2" lift? Then it jumps to 4" lift. So I only need to focus on the lift of the rear? From what I understand, the rear w/ the skyjacker kit will be raised at least 1.5", and some say up to 2" or so.

So can someone help me understand the triple x shocks and the 9000x adjustable? The triple x is a coilover and the 9000x is just an adjustable shock, right? What are the advantages to either? MoJoe, which did you put on your truck? You took the leveling kit off and then put the shocks on, right? So did you get the triple x coilovers up front? If so, how do they ride? Where did you get them and how much did they cost?

The adjustables are the Rancho 9000 series shock, with adjustable collars that are threaded. So you get the best of both. By themselves, the 9000 series shocks have a 9-way adjustable valve which lets you control the dampening of the shock. I bought mine from SUmmit Racing for $575 with a free $150 in cab controller.
