The cost of your retrofit is all based on the complexity of the parts and the fit and finish. It will generally cost $250 - $400 in labor.

Hey Duke... how about a case of your favorite beer and a cold-crisp Franklin in your pocket to build me a set?!

As tempting an offer as that its...I'd say I'll probably pass for now. Just managing this project has been a huge ordeal. I'll just be happy went it's done.

I should have updated pics this week.

You want them, you got them!

Here are the updated pics. The headlights are done! They will be installed this weekend.

God that would really suck to bust a headlight

Looks great, would love to see a video of them turning on/off and how they look while in the truck at night. I've never been in a vehicle with HID's.

Duke, please post a pic of the truck with lights on against a wall, from a distance. Would like to see what the pattern is like along with the cutoff. It would also be nice to see how much the light spreads with that setup.

Kudos for the experimental engineering.

Thanks for the kudos. However, I can't take all of the acknowledgement for this project.

I had a lot of help from all the people at HIDForum.com who walked me through a lot of stuff and taught me a ton.

My main role in this project was research and design. I contracted out the actual work of making the projectors bi-xeon and doing a color/sharp cutoff modification.

I also contracted out the work of installing the projectors into the headlights.

I will be doing the install into the actual truck this weekend. The project will probably draw into next week if I encounter problems.

Hopefully I will have them by Saturday and I'll do a test to see if the wiring harness and projectors work the same as the stock headlights. If they do as this has been extensively planned and researched, then I'll do a test fit of the headlight into the truck. Most likely they metal behind the headlight will need to be trimed, primed and then painted to get a good fit and prevent rust. This step could take the better part of the day. Then I'll run the wiring harness and hide it to keep the compartment looking clean and OEM. I'll also have to mount the HID ballasts, (still haven't decided where to put them), anyone who installed HID kits feel free to chime in on where you put yours. Lastly the headlights will be installed and hooked up after they headlight lenses have been covered with 3M clear bra to protect them against pitting or other road debris.

Well hopefully nobody will shoot at themm since they won't be bullet proof. Or I'll be able to see them coming and drive away.

Duke - Those look simply beautiful. I like the deletion of the rivets and overall the fit and finish are top notch. Your money was well spent.

Is that a rubbber bladder/gasket I am seeing on the backside of the headlight to seal up the cutting and retrofit areas?

Looks good man..

You had said you needed to cut some metal on the truck to get the lights to fit correctely. Do you have any pictures of what you had to cut? What did you use to do the cutting?
