Buyback - Finally done after just over a year

I just wanted to let all of you with vibration issues know that the buyback process does work. I don't think they have all turned out as positve as mine has, but I went through the entire process starting back in November 2004, just 1 month after I bought my truck, and it is finally complete. I went to the dealership for a total of 8 visits and 19 days downtime. I documented every visit and every comversation during the entire process. I found a mechanic at my local dealership that was real honest and seemed to really try to solve the problem. He basically tried really hard to get me as much documention as possible in case I had to go the buy back route. When we had tried everything possible including dealing with the FSE for 1 final visit, I finally called the DSB (which was now the BBB) back in October 2005 and turned in my paperwork just a week or two later. After less than a month after sending off my paperwork, I was contacted by the BBB and was told that Ford would replace my truck or buy it back for pretty much all costs' involved in the ownership experience. I chose a new truck and had one ordered. Once the truck came in to my dealership where I had made my original purchase, it took just over a week for all paperwork to be completed. Ford compensated me for all of my add-ons minus labor charges for any work done. Ford covered the registration for the first year and also paid the tax on the difference of the two MSRP's. I am very glad that the whole process is all done. It was a very long process, but I am pleased with the outcome and Ford has earned my future business. I just wanted to let you guys know about my experience and I hope this helps some of you with your troubles. For those of you wondering what I am now driving, it is a fully loaded 2006 F-250 6.0 Crewcab Lariat SB 4X4 in Dark Stone/Arizona Beige with tan interior on 20" wheels.

Congrats. That new truck is gorgeous. That is about the only thing I might be willing to trade mine for. Good luck with the new one.

Congrats man. Glad to see it all worked out for you.

I'm still fighting the battle.

I plan on having this truck for quite a while. It has plenty of power, plenty of style, and should have all the bugs worked out of it now that it is the last year for this body style. I think I will stay away from first year body styles. I have heard from other people (family) regarding other brands that they have had the same bad luck with their first year new body style.

The problem with getting the last year of a body style is that it tends to suffer more from depreciation. (i.e 03/04 F150's)

I already have a Donahoe Racing 4 1/2" lift kit that I want to install right now, but I dont have enough time. I am also in the process of upgrading the entire stereo and then who knows what else. It will be fun.
