I was just wondering if I was the only one who didn't have a light in my glove box or under my hood. I have a 2005 Lariat Supercrew 4x4.

I don't think any of the new model trucks have them. Ford is getting cheaper.

 

Something else they cut corner on.

 

I'm pricing out a new 2006 f150 the under hood light and other assorted lights is a lighting group add on that you have to buy extra they must of started it in 2005

So now they are charging you for things that should have came with the truck.

 

It also lacks a glove compartment lock. My 92 explorer had one. Wish my 04 F150 had it.

 

But for what? I mean really it would only be to keep honest people out. If someone breaks into your truck whats going to stop them from breaking into your glove compartment. I guess i dont know what you would want to hide in there anyways. If its that important it shouldnt be in your truck. But yes i can see if you have kids or dont want people looking at your insurance cards and all that stuff. But in all honesty, how many people actually lock them anyways all the time?

 

I'll tell you something else the new trucks don't have that I liked on my 97, when you pull the door handle the interior lights would come on, my 04 doesn't.

 

Why would you want an under hood light? Let the mechanic provide his own light, you shouldn't hafta pop the hood!

my 98 also had puddle lights on the inside of the door so when you opened it at night there was a white and a red light


plus the lights that lit up the footwells.

I tell ya, if Ford keeps cheaping out on these details, it will cost them in sales.
