Best way to lower the rear of my new 06?

I've read through the forums, seems like the obvious answer is a leveling kit. However I do not want to raise the front, just lower the back.
Is the preferred method a set of shackles?
I've seen some comments about removing the lowering blocks... my 06 STX has no lowering blocks that I can see between the axle and spring shackle.

Thanks for your input..

Ground Force 2" drop/lowering shackles. There are lots of threads on this. Under the search drop down type in drop shackles and read away

Only 4x4s have blocks in the rear that can be removed to level the *** end out. You'll need shackles otherwise.

I just took a set of Belltech 2" drop shackles out of the rear of my 05'. I only had them in there for 6 months, works great. Only took them out because I installed a McGaughy's 2/4 drop. Anyone interested $60 the Belltech shackles are yours in the original box.

Cool shackles seem to be the way to do it.
Any driveline vibration issues with shackleS?

Also, while I have done shackles on a early Mustang, is there any nuances or tips to doing a truck leafspring?

I would simply recommend that you go with the GroundForce shackle kit, since it comes with pinion shims already included as part of the package. Most other manufacturers don't seem to include the shims, and from the experience of the guys on this board, there is about a 50-50 chance of having a driveline vibration if you don't install shims.

If you want a pictorial on how to install the shackles, I did one when I installed my kit -- drop me an e-mail and I'll send it to you. Also, check out my gallery for some basic pictures on the shackle installation.

Good luck!
