yep, if you buy flex a lite's $400 kit, it comes with its own shroud, so the efans mount like the stock fan does..

The pins can cut the radiator if you do a lot of off-roading due to the vibration and harshness. The mad controller is Mike's controller at madenterprise.com. That's the one I have and it works very well.

E-fans are going to be my next mod, and I was also worried about the "pins thru the fins" setup. IMO, it's never a good idea to hang anything from an aluminum rad core. It's just asking for trouble. Not only that, but when you slap those two 16" fans direct to the core, you're basically rendering around 25% of your rad useless.

I'm in the process of laying out a shroud that uses the stock shroud mount locations (on the tanks). All I need to do to finish is measure the mount hole locations on the two 16", 2700 CFM Zirgos I have on order.

With the fans, controller, and shroud, I should have around $180 total in the setup. (That figure includes hoping that the sheet metal supplier I deal with at work will hook me up with a freebe )

you need something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Flex-...QQcmdZViewItem

i have a mechanical controller in my ranger with the same type of sensor in the upper rad hose. works good.
and i'm also not a fan of installing anything TO my rad. that's what fabrication is for.

Let me rephrase my original price - $180 is what I have in it now, not including the shroud. If I don't end up getting the shroud for free, it'll probably add $50 or so.

I'll try to remember to take pics during the install.

Yep - That's close to the style controller I have. I think the ine I bought is just a newer version. It's the one that runs the fans at 60% when they first start.

Eric, you should consider creating a package like your set-up and selling it to members.

I have the MArk8/tbird fan in my truck with the mad controller. Works great. I am going to the spal controller when i get off my lazy tail so it will run all 50% all the time to help out the AC. Plus i dont want the fan to start and stop all the time. But it works great so far... FAn was $150 shipped and controller was about $100 shipped.

Great computer rendering. I would have just done my design on a pad. But then again my computer skills are kind of weak. No Industrial Light and Magic coming from me. Good luck.
