Just got new Terra Grapplers

Tires are 325/50/22 (35" overall diameter) Terra Grapplers on 22x9.5 Forte Shooters with +35mm. Rubs a little on the frame at full lock, no rubbing at all on flares. Rear is stock with 2.5 daystar in front.

Hope you enjoy!

Sorry for the crappy pics, I don't have a digital camera so I had to scan in some pics from a disposable.

Looks great!!! I just got the 295/70R17 Grapplers and I'm still feeling them out. Seem to be a good tire so far. With such a low profile do you feel alot of road noise? How about traction while cornering?

I do feel a lot from the road, but I think that is mostly because of the weight of the wheel/tire combo, probably about 100lbs a piece. I've been running 305/40's on these wheels for the last 6months, so the ride is better than the old tires. As far as cornering, I'm still feeling that out, since I'm used to the 40 series tires without the leveling kit and without the rear blocks, which is what my old setup was. With that setup, the truck cornered like mad, I actually pulled on a '95 Mustang on a long, sweeping on-ramp one day. These are a little worse in the turns, but so far they feel pretty good.

Hey this is a good question for both ford141 and oxlander, since you guys both have new Terra Grapplers. How do these tires compare to what you had before in regards to tire noise at highway speed. Also was wondering (more for oxlander) how the tires ride compared to the old stock tires?--DIY

You should love the Terra Grapplers, I know that I do! Plus they look really nice under you truck.

DIY, I also upgraded from the stock Goodyears AT/S's to the Terra Grapplers back in late March. There is very little more road noise, IMO. But I am also used to listening to the M/T's under my work truck howl, so I don't pay very much attention to road noise.

How do you like the 2.5" Daystar leveling kit?

I like the way it looks.

Not to hijack ford141's thread,
I was really suprised that there is'nt any road noise from this tire. In fact on Friday I got on the interstate fully expecting to hear the nortorious hum associated with large lug tires, but there was'nt any. Very, very quiet. Ride quailty is a little bit stiffer than the stock P235/70R17s. For example, the stock tires used to squeel alot whenever I would corner in a parking lot like Wal-mart. I think this was due to the 2 ply sidewall construction which provided a smooth, soft ride but less responsive handling. Now with the Nittos the squeel is gone. Initially the tire shop that mounted my tires inflated them to 40psi but that felt a little "mushy" to me when cornering. I now have them at 50psi and they feel just right.

Thanks for the info. I think I've found my next set of tires! Now all I have to do is wear these Wranglers out. Sorta sucks 'cause 2 of them only have about 6k miles on them and the other two only have about 6k left. Guess I'll have to e-Bay the good ones.--DIY

Don't know how I missed this thread. But I like the bigger tires on the 22s. It stinks that they rub the frame but I'm suprised we can even get that far.

I always wanted to see what 35s looked like on 22 inch rims.

I want to put a suspension lift on in a couple years when it's no longer a daily driver. I was thinking about keeping my 22s and then wrapping some 35s on them, but after seeing this I think they'd definitely need 37s to look right.

I did a swap from stock (BFG 18"s" to the 295's on stock rims. They are louder than stock for sure but it isn't bad, in fact after 5 or 10 miles on the hwy I don't really notice it fo rthe rest of the trip. As for the ride, they are a tad stiffer but I think it's a fair trade for the looks of the tire... not to mention these things are 200% better off road, there is no compairing them in the dirt.

Nice truck ford141!! looks good

I definately have to agree with oxlander on the quietness of these tires. For an all-terrain tread that is fairly aggressive, these things are almost silent. Believe it or not, my last set of tires on the 22's were Cooper Zeon high performance tires, and they were louder than the Nittos.
