Rear End shutter

My truck just started with the rear end shutter and I hear it more when it is cold. I couldn't find the tsb on it. Is this something that needs fixin right away? What was the diagnosis? I did search, but couldn't find what I'm looking for. Thanks

There is a tsb for clutch packs in the rear end. Had to have mine replaced, no problem with that since. There is a tsb, take it to the dealer and they should take care of you.

Mine did that when I got it. I had the PCM reflashed and the shudder went away. The first time I took it in they checked the line pressure in the trans and said it was ok and I would have to wait for a new PCM flash to come out.

I actually hear it on take off in a straight line and when turning during take off. I'm going to bring it in to check it out asap.

Mine is in shop right now for that exact problem. The TSB for clutch packs is for clunk/shudder when doing slow turn and not for straight take off.
The dealer will first try the lube yoke with teflon grease, that will work for about 2 hours. When you take it back they will replace driveshaft, I will let you know today if that worked.

Mine did it exactly like yours, only on a straight take off. The dealer fixed it under warranty. (replaced clutch packs)
If you take it in, probably would not hurt to tell them happens both on take off and when turning though.

I just scheduled it for Monday. How long does it normally take? I hope to get it back the same day.

My brakes are getting bad also with only 29000 miles. Is there some type of warranty available for them also? Its starting to squeak.

They don't cover "squeeking", I had warped rotors, when I would brake the whole truck would shutter real bad.
Being that my truck was an early build (7/03) on some of the trucks the material used for the disc's were too soft, therefore when heating up caused warping of the rotors.

I ordered mine in 9-03 and got it in 10 03 so I guess that would make it an early model. I'm going to try to squeeze a brake job out of them also.

Got my truck back yesterday, they put in a new drive shaft and shutter is gone. They didn't touch rear end. There is a TSB for it, if you want I can give you the number. They also did my brakes, calipers, rotors and pads. Truck has 24,000 miles.

Rear End TSB 05-26-11
Work order says " Test drove and found a shudder under acceleration. Performed TSB 05-26-11 and removed driveshaft. Found drive shaft lubed and flaking in yoke. Replaced drive shaft as per TSB 05-26-11. Test drove and shudder was gone."
Brakes TSB I think is 05-21-19 or maybe 05-19-21. Replaced calipers, Rotors and pads. All work was done at 24,000 miles.
Hope this helps.
