thanks man, its tricky to get that curve to come out just right, and now on top of that, all the little radii that are underneath the spoiler and all. its all bondo-ed and primered, so when i get some paint on it it should pop.
If you decide to shave the whole thing, Grant Kustoms sells a skin for the tailgates of our trucks, If i had know about it, i would have gone that route, but theres little to no bondo work.

question for ya...again this idea just came to me two days ago and if I'm going to do it I really need to figure things out by the weekend b4 paint starts..... what type of set up did you do for opening up the tailgate...popper? hidden lever?
you have a pic of your rear from a little further away? Does the hitch tie in to theme ok to as where it doesn't stand out too much?

here's a pic from when i still had the emblem, but you can see the hitch better
here's the latch. A lot of guys use the handle kit, but if you just flip the linkage inside, and have an access hole, you can get your finger in there to pull it up
(while i was still working on it, i have a rubber flap indside there so you don't see the lever.)

Just like you can buy door skins for replacing the damaged sheetmetal without replacing an entire door structure.
