Don't get me wrong, I love horsepower, the more the better. There is a proper place to get a bad case of the lead foot and let it all hang out. the public streets are not that place. I have seen street legal trucks that can pass the smog test ( in california no less) that can run 10.90's on pump gas at the drag strip. That is where this kind of stuff belongs. As long as you keep it off the public streets I say bring on

Why does Ford give the Explorer the 3valve 4.6L , and not the F150? Thats a bunch of crap. I'ts rated at 292hp and 300trq.

Street racing is a bad idea...and besides, with a 6,000 pound truck, how would you ever tell it was racing any way?

There's just not that much difference between a normal take off and WOT take off anyhow. the truck is so big and heavy and slow, chances are that the only person who thinks he is racing is the driver himself. Others would be oblivious.

Off topic but it applies I guess...I was out last night in my 87 Formula testing things out (I just finished a complete rear end swap and LS1 brake conversion...not to mention full exhaust and installed a Eibach Pro-Kit) and I had no less than 4 punk kids jump me (2 Mustang GTs and a Jap car and pretty sweet 03-04 Cobra Vert). Being my Formula still has a very tired LG4 305 in it (all though it sounds bad as hell and with the 4.11s winds up quick...just no top end when it gets up there) only the Jap car was even close. SO me and my brother-in-law went home and got my Hawk and came back out...funny thing is no body wanted to play anymore. I did talk to guy with the Cobra and he claimed his clutch was bad or he would race (although it seems kind of odd is was fine a hour before when I was in the Formula...) Well at least it was fun enough to give me some incentive to hurry up and get my motor (383 with a 150 shot) in the Formula.
