Free Speakers!!

I just received some free speakers when I bought a new head unit. Do these trucks have any 6.5" round speakers? I got the grilles off the fronts and they aren't the right size. What about the rears?

I'm sure with a little custom fabrication you could get them in there without any problems.

Free speakers = worth what you paid for them.

The reason BustedBy, CircleJerkCity, etc. give you the speakers is because they want you to pay the $30/pair to install them when they put in your head unit. Do yourself a favor and, uh...sell them to somebody else on the website that wants them, yeah, that's the ticket!

Your factory speakers are 6X8, 25 watt, 4ohm with a paper cone. The free speakers you have may actually be better than OEM! You'll probably have to fabricate a bracket yourself as 6.5 to 6X8 brackets are not commonly stocked items at most retailers on-line.

Selling them to a board member would probably be the easiest thing to do. I used to sell left over OEM speakers on ebay, but they're flooded with them. Maybe I'll make a speaker box with 12 of them and hook it to the kid's boom box!

...and, if you decide to do that, sell them in the classified section - not in the forums! Thanks!!

6.5s wont fit in the front doors without some trimming on the top and bottom of the speaker opening. its only 6 inches tall, so you will need to enlarge it. on the back, theyll fit. just make some 1/4" mdf plates.
