Question Changing your fuel filter?

Hey guys, I was wondering about changing the fuel filter on a 2004 FX4. My question is about removing the fuel pressure before trying to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter. How do you guys recommend this on these trucks? In the past on mustangs and such I either pulled the relay or fuse and tried to crank the engine for a few seconds and this worked pretty well. I'm new to the group and a new '04 owner. My truck has 48000 miles on it and I'm not sure when/if it has been changed. Thanks.

Oh, and it should be a yearly/15,000 mile maintenance item.

Cheers

I don't bother with relieveing the pressure. I have changed mine 3 times, there has not been any pressure. Just get a small amount of run out, catch it with a rag. Be sure you get the special tool. any parts store, about $10.
