How far do you drive everyday?
I was just wondering how far some of the people on here drive their f150s to work. I have a 42 mile drive, one way. It takes about 40 minutes. I don't have an f150 yet, but I want one......bad! And I am trying to figure out if it would cost too much to drive it to work everyday. I could buy a small cheap car, but that means I would have to wait a little while to buy the truck, and I don't want to wait. So lets here some opinions, just go for the truck?? or get a honda? lol

Some days I don't leave town; my office is about 10 minutes from the house. Other days I'll leave at 0500 and return at 2200, and put on 800 miles. Average day is 3-400 miles, that's how I put on 100k in 17 months!
Go for the truck if you can afford it-and you can maintain it once you have it bought. Nothing worse than buying something nice then letting it turn into a POS because you couldn't keep it nice.

My drive...
I drive 80 miles round trip to the office daily.
I've had my '06 SCREW for about a month. I traded in my '99 F250 SD Crew for my 150. Gas mileage (at least right now) is nearly identical. But, the comfort and ease that my 150 drives with is easily better than my Super Duty. Besides having over 218 K miles on it and the fact it was starting to nickel and dime me to death, I LOVE pulling up to the pump and seeing a .30 cent difference in the price of gas vs. diesel.
Get a 150!!!!!!

Yeah I'm a nurse too. So i drive the 80 mile round trip 5 days in a row, then off 5 then work 2 then off 2 then I start my 5 on again. My truck now is a nissan frontier 4x4 which gets about 15mpg hwy. So I figure with the f150 it should be pretty much equal except with the bigger gas tank I shouldn't have to fill up as often. Does anyone drive a 4x4 the long distance to work??? When I buy an f150 its gonna be 4x4. Do ya'll think it would be worth it to buy a little rice burner for about 5 grand and save the new truck (when I get it) from all the miles from the long trips to work?

Around 26 miles round trip. Not to bad and then the "family car" is used in the evenings and weekends. Between that and being overseas for 10m that is why I have a little over 5k on it and its 1 1/2 yrs old. I have to go to El Paso for 9m this summer and it will probably go in storage so its safe to say my 5yr warranty will run out before I reach the milage limit

My work is a 50 mile round trip, 5 days a week, plus we use the truck for all running around. About 25,000 miles a year. I am getting 17 mpg running to work and local driving. It was about 16.5 with the ethanol blend. I get 19.2 on the highway, and that is driving too fast.

55 Miles EACH way, that's 110 miles every day. I was stopping every third day and putting $75 gas in my truck when the price was around $3.00/gallon. If you drive that much, gas is GOING to be expensive. In fact, I just bought an 07 Mustang GT to make the drive because I get about 24.5mpg and saves me about 7-8 dollars every day over driving the truck....poor truck spends a lot of time in the driveway now.
