You can change the F-150 to ANY 1/2 ton pickup. If I was going to tow a 10,000 lb trailer, I would skip 3/4 and go to a diesel ton truck.

You are entirely correct. I thought the point was understood that NO 1/2 ton truck (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan or Toyota) is up to the task nor should be used to tow 10000lbs. I didn't include the other makes in the post since people get their pink lace panties in a wad when someone mentions any other truck. I could care less what the advertisers & marketing pinheads say 10000lbs is MINIMUM 3/4 ton diesel truck territory.

KC-10 FE out...

My former father-in-law owned a RV dealership. People would always ask him if they could pull a 30+ft trailer with their 1/2 ton. His answer was always" You can pull it with a Volkswagen if you want, just depends on how far and how fast you want to go". He also added, let me know when you do, so I can be off the road at that time.

They always went by the GVWR of the truck the customer had, and it was always inspected it before closing a deal. The truck had to have at least 20% higher rating than the package they were selling.
