Which type of intake?
I have 05 F150 STX 4X4 with the 4.6L and I am wanting to get a new intake put on it. I have been looking at the True Flow intake system for the past couple of days but can not make my mind up. Is it better to get a intake that uses the stock filter housing and new pipe and filter or is it better to get a intake that is open? What about heat shields? I have found some that uses them and some dont. What are your thoughts on open and closed systems?
Thanks for the help.

I might be able to help you out bro. I had a 05' F-150 4.6L that was wrecked by my fiance. When I bought a new truck I got the 5.4L so I have a brand new K&N 77 Series intake in my garage. It's mostly assembled(including the rubber that surrounds the intake and sits flush with the hood. I also left the MAF Sensor assembled with the intake. It's basically ready to drop in, all you have to do is clamp everything together once your oem intake is removed. A few clamps, and unhook your maf and plug it into the one installed and your ready to go.
I have been looking to give a fellow forum member a good deal on it, so if your interested just let me know. I do have pic's, and the intake is polished. My email is gytr_660r@yahoo.com if your interested.
