What To Do??~$800

im about to get 800 bucks from selling my current sound system and my stock wheels and tires.

i am going to be bu8ilding a custom sub box for 12's like bushtrees that takes up your center seat.
i have TWO AudioMobile MASS2012's sitting here at my house right now....and they are amazing..older..but amazing.
i am going to buy a JBL GTO1201 amp to run them on.

my question is....all said and done with amp and parts for the box and install should only be like...400. that leaves me 400 more.

should i:
A) Use that $400 elsewhere/save?
B) buy some newer subs that are insane like the audiomobile's??
basically...if i bought anything else they would have to have great SQ and
hit hard as hell

maybe something from... TC Sounds? (they made the audiomobile's when they were around)

well why dont you wait and see how you like the audio mobiles and go from there, that way if you dont like them you still have that money to buy new ones

I think i was one of the first to do it on the back seat

But i say save for now, you never know when you might have a bad day.

very true pat......the back seat....yeah we know you were the first no need to brag (im kidding, love your setup)

tommy, i thought that at first....but i was taking a lil gander at the TC Sounds TC-3000 12" ....1000 watts CONTINUOUS only 250 each!

only problem is....i couldnt use the JBL GTO1201 if i switched to those....cause id need a 2000 watt amp atleast after that.

who else makes some great subs....i dont wanna look into JL...too expensive....how about some companies that are more word of mouth and internet based..i like to buy factory direct

I agree with 06.....use the audiomobles you have now and see how you like them. If they were amazing before, I'm sure they will be in the new system as well. Then, if for some reason you dont like them, spend the money on some new ones. I had a set of Alpine Type R 10's that I loved and used them in two cars I had. If they would fit in my truck, they would deff. be in there. But they wont fit without lifting the seat, which I dont want to do.

Save the $400 and get something else for the truck or just save it for later.

I really like the (i want to say alpine) Punch series sub my roomate used to have in his car. Was 10" and could hit as hard as my subs do, just not as low. But i bet the 12 version is just crazy sick

Are you building the box or having it built? What are spending the first $400 for?

im going to build it...unless elemental designs can build it pretty cheap for me.

the first 400 would be going towards the amp (JBL GTO1201)..installation of the amp and all, and materials to build the box.

If ED builds the box for me....more money will be going into it.

QUESTION:
after i remove my current amp thats powering my subs, and saying i had the JBL already....could/would it wire up directly how my current amp did? meaning....the power supply...and running into my head unit, NOT the wiring to the subs.

not really sure what you are asking exactly, but you should be able to reuse your amp wire kit if its 0/1 awg If its 4/6/8 awg i would invest in a 0/1 awg kit. and as long as you are happy with your current audio cables, no need to relay them. Just keep them away from your power wire.

And make your own box. Its not that hard, and for me its worth the cash not to have someone build it, besides the fact thats its completely custom for my truck, that no one would make a prefab box like mine

JL W7s are the best on the market IMO. 2 12w7 will put anything to shame in the same class, and the amps are amazingly powerful.IMO

just say no to tc sounds, jl audio or alpine

with the last 2 all your paying for is a name

Look into FI, RE, DD, stereo integrity
