I'll call and see if I can find some pistons by giving JDM or Troyer a call on Tuesday. I don't know why these are difficult to come by considering how many of these F-150's are out there already.

definately let us know what you find out

but i can see how they are hard to find... this motor has only been out for a few years and trucks are not the kind of vehicles that most people build motors for. the demand for forged pistons and such for our motors are relatively low unfortunately...

There is no reason you cant run 17-18 psi on 91 octane.. I actually know several people that run that on 87 octane just fine. 7-8 psi is not alot of pressure. Factory cars come with more then that. Hell even the lightning, cobra, ford GT etc. came with more psi then that from the factory.....

If you go through all that trouble, bumping up the boost will be no problem at all.

Well, I just got off the phone with JDM. Ryan was quite helpful in explaining what they do.

You have to purchase the Lightning kit for $1795 and request a swapout for the 3V pistons. That's all that's needed. He mentioned the kit was good for about 800 HP and works with the existing forged crankshaft.

Thanks everyone for your information.
