Ride Quality

I just took my company truck home and WOW my truck rides like crap. It is an 05 chevy 1500 2x4 and that thing rides amazing. I have coilovers and everything what gives? I am talking to glenn at radflo about custom coilovers but do you think that will make a difference. I want my truck to ride like that chevy.

From my experience, Fords have always ridden stiffer than a chevy. Fords were always set up more for working and chevy's for ride comfort.

If you like it, go for it!

Not mine, it rides like a luxury car. The other trucks are much rougher.

Chevys have a car suspension under them. Thats why they sag so bad in the back end when they are hooked up to a trailer.

If you want a car-like ride in your truck... you don't need a whole new truck. Heck, I've seen solid axle trucks that were once bumpy and rough riding with small upgrades ride equal if not better than one of those chevys.

It's all about the suspension components. Why you think you need a whole new truck to get a car-like ride is beyond me.

What would you suggest then?

Adjust the pressure in your coilovers ethan. My truck rode a hell of a lot better stock as well, but it also bottomed out the coilovers offroad on many occasions. Have never done that yet.

Ive done that gone up and down in PSI. Ive been talking to a lot of guys about it and they say its all in the vlaving. IDK everyone that rides in my truck says how smooth it is but man after driving in that chevy my truck rides like a tank or our forklift with solid tires at work

my truck rides smooth as glass. I only notice a rough ride on dirt roads and similar terrain.

from your first post, it looks like you have aftermarket coil-overs...maybe your aftermarket coil-overs are the problem?

Tires and shocks can play a huge factor. Also, did the work truck have stuff in the bed? A load in the back of just about any truck greatly improves ride quality.

Ford trucks are big towing trucks, so the rear end is more stiff...throw even a couple hundred pounds in the bed and you will feel it noticeably soften up.

Yes I saw your post's over at the titan forum, You trader! J/K
At least you stayed true to Ford in enemy territory.

Your truck ( in the gallery anyway) is lifted with bigger tires. Is there really a comparison to be made here?
