Where did YOU get your rear lower shackle kit and how much to install?

Hey guys,

For those that have rear lower shackle kits, which isn't many lol, where did you order them online from and how much did you pay for installation?

I called 4WP today in Orlando and they quoted me $100 for the kit and then $450 for install. That seemed ridiculous to me for installation.

Thanks for any replies.

I ordered mine from Summit (GroundForce kit) and did it myself. I had never done anything like it before, so I wrote up this guide as I went for other rookies: http://pages.suddenlink.net/thedarst...kleinstall.htm

I got the Ground Force kit from Summit Racing for about $100 shipped. It is a complete kit that includes the pinion angle correction shims.

I also paid around $100.00 for my Ground Force kit and installed them myself in an afternoon. The install is really pretty easy provided you have a floor jack, jack stands, and a decent selection of metric sockets......

Lower?

Good grief... why would anyone want to lower an F-150? If anything, lift it up.

You can get nosebleeds and headaches that close to the ground.

One more question. With the shackle kit effect my towing abilities? My buddy has a 20 ft. car hauler that I tow just back to his house, then we hook it to his diesel to go to HPDE's and then I tow it back again after the weekend to where we keep it. It's always unloaded when I tow it, 3000 lbs or so, with around 800 lb. tonque weight. I know that is overloaded on the tongue weight but I only drive it about 20 miles and this is every few months that I do this.

ordered the GF 2" shackles online for $89. had the local custom shop install for $100, took about an hour. very simple to install, but i didn't have a floor jack at the time so what i paid wasn't too bad.
i love the stance. you'll notice it sits lower the first few drives, but otherwise, it's a great mod.
makes loading/unloading the bed cargo much easier.

I have some DJM's I ran on my truck that I just removed. Email me if your interested. Heck if you are close enough I will even install them. Very simple to do. They will not affect your towing, I pulled alot of trailers over 5000 lbs without incident.
