I was thinking about buying one and just putting it in the suicide door pocket in my reg cab, maybe one for both sides... you never know.

I was going to buy a tool box, then somehow mount it to where it would be the first thing that would be there on the drivers side when I opened it. Those things dont react to heat do they??

I bought one from Advanced Auto Parts that had a bracket, so I screwed it down on the hump in the back right after the Floor Shift Console, there's an indent there so it fit perfect.

Like the red one in this pic.........

I'm looking at purchasing two.

I want one mounted inside the cab and one mounted in the bed under my ARE cover.

Obviously, the one in the bed can go pratically anywhere but the one inside the cab I want to put in an easily accessible spot.

I like the under seat option... anyone else have one installed or any other ideas?

if you have the xlt center console you could possibly mount them inside it, it looks like it's big enough for it.

I know another spot I thought to put mine on the side of the transmission hump, not sure how they would play out foot wise, I think there's plenty of room to spare, I just haven't checked, I also have the vinyl floors so I'm not terribly concerned about carpet.

That picture is a halon or a halide extinguisher. It is designed to put out an electronics fire and specifically not to damage the equipment. Is that what you have?

Exactley what I did. Stuck it in the drivers side, very easy to get too.

Something to consider. Fire extinguisher mounts are not specifically designed to prevent the device from being released (not sprayed) under the variable forces that occur in a vehicle crash. At the very least, be sure to buy one that has ALL metal mounting components. The last thing you need is an 8 pound (or whatever it is) projectile being tossed around if you crash.

Just a thought.

Is this where you put it?

It feels like there's a solid beam there to mount to but I've been leary of trying it.

Grub, a small one like this will will fit with the seat down bc I've just been laying mine there. I think it's a pound or 1.5'er. Like 10 seconds of spray. If I ever got a tool box I'd put a bigger one in it.

Here's the deal.
I placed a 10 pound A-B-C rated First Alert FE3A40 under the seat. The mount is all steel and is an extremely close fit. Here is a link for a review of the extinguisher:

Here are a couple pics of it installed:

With seat down, very close fit...

With seat up....

With $1 for scale

Thanks,
Just glad I could help. i would suggest getting a slightly smaller extinguisher.
This on is a tight fit, however, I wanted it in the cab and i wanted the largest one I could fit.
