Should be pretty loud, It doesn't use any packing , so there is nothing to absorb the sound...

Search for the vid that weazel had posted up awhile back, they sound pretty much the same. I don't have the crackling anymore after I cleaned my TB.

We had one of those on our old shop truck, a 94 F250 SC longbox, powerstroke. It had 3.5" pipe from the turbo back, no cat, then into the "muffler". The 94 was just a little bit quiter than my fathers 99 F350 4X4 SC longbox, powerstroke which was running a 4" straight pipe from the turbo all the way out.

From what I remember there where a couple of rings built into the sides of the "muffler". But it is basically just a straight pipe. The only reason that we put one on the 94 was because when running DOT scales they wanted to see some sort of a muffler in place, even though it really didn't do anything to muffle the sound.

I second the straights, I have true dual 2.5 with an x-pipe exiting lightning style through 3.5"x18" tips. It sounds awsoeme, I get good comments on it all the time. It is however extremely loud and does drone, it actually causes my dash to rattle sometimes on startup. Keep in mind I only have 2 cats.

I already had my back 2 cats cut out a while back. Basically I wanna go with the loudest set up possible, I just figured the Outlaw muffler would give it a lil more rumble than just runnin strait pipes.

The straights are very aggressive sounding, and have a deep rumble to them. They are deep and pretty loud until about 3000rpm then they come alive and are extremely loud and aggressive.
What I would do is just have the exhaust run with no mufflers, and if its what your looking for then stick with it. If its not the right tone then put the outlaws in it, it shouldn't cost more than 50$ to have them welded in. The muffler will however quiet it down a little.
