What are these things for?

I have a 2007 SCREW, & behind the rear seat headrests are three, nylon straps attatched to what look to be metal clips, located just in front of the reat window. What are these things function, & what purpose do they serve?
Thanks!..................

Should be the carseat anchors. Forward facing seats attach to these straps. The dots on the bottom of your seats lead down to metal rings that serves the same purpose.

if it's the same as the ones in the regular cab they're for car seats. my reg cab only has one in the middle because that's the only legal place for a car seat....you have more for your supercrew because it's allowable to do that. it's a new way to anchor your car seat from flying forward in a crash.

don't worry though, i bought my truck in december 04 and didn't figure out what the hell it was until april 06 when i had a baby boy. there's a nylon strap with a metal buckle on new car seats that clip into the nylon straps on your trucks rear cab wall

If you do use that as an excuse, you'd better enjoy it now! Because after the kiddies arrive, it's all over.

For that strap sticking up in the middle of the seat on some of our trucks, use needle-nose pliers to pull out the staple, take off the rubber sleeving as necessary, and push them down behind the seat. YOU may not need those for the kiddies, but the next guy/gal who owns your truck might! It doesn't hurt to leave them there ... just hidden away. Plus, leaving them in place looks odd and the rubberband will melt in time and 'gunk' up your truck. Your manual will give you info on how to use the child seat safety straps.

I was getting excited when I saw mine. I thought it might lay down the back of the seat. I'm not sure why the bottom comes up instead. Bumps and jacks make it difficult to use the extra space.
