Thanks, but I saw it. What of it? My take was that the 'custom' tune being referred to was the Roush tune. Saw nothing that elaborated on this.

OP - what's the deal here? If you indeed have a non-Roush-supplied tune, whose is it?

And I think some of you folks are confusing Torque Management with true Traction Control. There is a vast difference. Traction Control deals with wheel slip due to road conditions, for the purpose of maintaining vehicle stability - TQ Mgmt involves torque modulation for a host of reasons; driveline protection, seamless 'soccer mom' shift smoothness @ gear transitions, etc - not wheelslip, per se. And - while there are wheel speed sensors ( the ABS units), this data is NOT used in the TQ MGMT algorithms with the intent to monitor / control wheelslip. But it is in true Traction Control.

What's ol' bubba missing this time ? man - these meds are brutal, lol!

Hmm .. when he said custom tune, I thought a custom dyno tune. We'll see, I guess.

Yeah - different perception - no biggie. And thump, no need to let anything 'slide', okay? Ya won't offend me; in fact, I welcome your honest rebuttals.

By custom tune, I was specifying a change in the maps that Roush modified to lean the tune out. No other changes were made other than bumping the Roush tune top speed limit to 105 MPH.

This is an '05 4x2, not a 4x4. I have one devil of a time lighting up the tires without completing a neutral-to-1st slam shift. I can get the tires to spin when loading up the RPM's, but no roasty toasty tires here. Something's telling me there's some spark retard going on that I'm definitely not wanting.

I can roast tires in my '07 with a puny engine. Something is wrong with your tuning. Maybe something minor needs to be changed.

First step, ditch the horrible Roush tune for a custom dyno tune.

Agreed.

Roush - the reasons are in the linked article I posted for you previously.

Now - you could get this done via mail-order, but you must datalog religiously, and more than one iteration may be required to dial it in spot-on.

If you are just guessin' by leaning it out, IMHO, you are playing roulette.

BTW, thump, I'll let this one slide
