One think to consider;
I had Wrangler AT/S's in 275/65R18C stock, and just switched to BFG 285/65R18E. The tire calculator indicated a 0.51 inch increase in diameter, but is was more than that. I would say that I gained about one inch in diameter because of the sidewall stiffness. The stock load range C tires had a softer sidewall, so the height of the tire was less with the weight of the truck. The BFG's did not give much at all being an E tire.
