Body style changes

Is there a difference in the body styles between 05 and 08. Looking to retrofit power folding mirrors from an 05 to an 08 and ford is telling me it wont fit because the body styles are different. Thanks for any input.

The body changes I am aware of are...

#1. Front upper and lower bumper changed.
#2. At least from 2004 - 2008, black stuff between windows on doors changed from gloss to satin finish.
#3. Paint colors changed.
#4. Availability of Chrome grilles on some models.
#5. Certain models received PTM door and tailgate handles.
#6. SuperCrew models made available with 6.5 foot bed in 2006 model year. (or was it '07?).

There were no changes to the door assembly as far as I know other than making some different optional mirrors available.

I'm almost positive this can be done no problem. There was just a thread that I saw the "new" mirrors put on an older-bodied truck. I'll see if I can find it.

I think it was mid production 06.

BTW are yours power folding white? I assume you'd just need to do some wiring if they aren't (shouldn't be that hard I'd assume) granted you have the switch. I just remembered seeing your truck (which looks great) and that you had newer style mirrors

Mine aren't power folding, If they are I don't know how to do it yet (I don't drive it too much, company truck to/from work, too tired to go anywhere else afterwards)

I have an 05 passenger side mirror on my 07 (I broke the original). The differences I noted were in the wiring for the turn signal and mirror heater, plus there was an extra stud on the 05 mirror that my 07 didn't have. Fortunately, there is a pre-existing hole in the wing area for the stud. I have not worked around the wiring issue yet. The mirror moves as it should but no turn signal and no heat.

There's not much difference between even an '04 and the '08. I put the '07 chrome edition grille on mine when two dealers said it wouldn't work.

my dealer said the painted 08 mirrors would work just fine on my 06...just that it would cost me some serious $$$ to pick them up

Thanks for all the info everyone, i had found the article and that is where I had gotten the part numbers from, but when i called the local dealrship they said it would not fit. I am trying to figure out the difference because he quoted me ~180 for the 05 mirrors and ~450 for the 08 mirrors not sure why the difference. Probably just trying to make some extra coin.
