The rubber pad in the tray on top of the dash lifts out, and I put it in away for safe keeping. I then drilled a 1" hole at the back of the tray to run all the wires down through; tapped into the radio power and ground wires.
When I took the CB out, I simply spray glued the rubber mat back down. To look at the dash, you could never tell there had been a radio up there.

I simply mounted mine to the left side of the glovebox. I thought about it for weeks, but could not find a place that it was close and out the way. All I need to get to is the power switch and it isnt that bad at all.
I ended up putting my linear under the back seat close to the frame by the jack. Way to far for a jumper in my opinion, but with the stupid bench seat and interior arrangement there is not much you can do.
