Considering I am only 16 this is my first ford, lol. But I am probably wont have it for to terribly long. I will hopefully get my dads 06 Megacab Cummins 4x4 Laramie with the 09 dodges come out :-). But mine will work for now. Sorry guys, but the f150s are the only fords I like. But it just doesnt have enough power behind it, and I LOVE the black cloud of smoke produced by diesel engines. Oh yeah, and my dads get 22mpg. I am getting 10.

My first Ford was a '75 Bobcat Wagon. I loved that car. When I got it it had Crager SS wheels with tiny little BF Goodrich tires on it. It had the 2.8 liter V6. I put on an Offenhouser intake, 390CFM Holley 4bbl carb, cast aluminum valve covers, headers, duals out the back, pulled the auto tranny out and put in a 4 speed from a Mustang II. Had slapper bars on the back. Got a new set of coils for the front and cut a complete coil from the set and dropped them in. It handled pretty well and was pretty zippy for a Bobcat. I remember running a TransAm at the time from a stop light and I hung with him through until he hit fourth gear then he out powered me. I kept looking over at him and his eyes were bugging out that a "Pinto" was hanging with him... I was in the USAF at the time and got orders to Germany so gave the car to Mom and Dad. My bro decided to see if it would burn out in second gear and stripped the timing gears out of it. That was the death of my Bobcat.

My next one was an '84 Ranger 4x4 which also had the 2.8 V6 but I pulled that and dropped in a 302 out of a early 70's Bronco which I had bored and built. That one came to a firey death... Still hurts to think about it... Here is the story on that one... http://copester.net:4763/index.php?o...d=38&Itemid=69

that sounds like an awesome bobcat wagon, I lke anything that was offenhausered... lol
I didint know they made that intake, makes me wish I could find a good rust free body to build one of those old 2.8 , good torque and mpg and easy to work on.

The new Ranger trucks are perfected, It would be a shame to discontinue those. We got some in at work, 08 2.3 inline 4, they are torquey, and when you hammer it, it shifts like a dirt bike, the tranny gears get real close together so there is zero bogging .... ETC I guess.

My first ford was also my first vehicle. My dad gave me an old '79 F250 4x4 reg cab and long bed. Factory a/c (rare for a 1979 truck) that still runs on R12 . Came with 400M 2 barrel carb, but was swapped out for a 460 4 barrel by the original owner (Im number 3). It has a C-6 auto, D44 front, D60 rear, and a NP205 transfer. When I got it, it had sat for several years, and it only took a new battery to fire it up. It had almost 0 oil pressure, needed new heads, failing ignition module (liked to go dead at 45+ mph ), and several thousand dollars in other things.

It now sits in my garage... waiting for a carb. Most of the repairs are over with, and it runs good.

Now that's a real truck ! The only thing I would want is the four speed granny tranny. C6 is good though, I always wanted to swap in a 460 in the 78 bronco I had but sold it. What knd of carb do you want?

I have a friend selling a 79 Bronco w/460 in it and 3/4 ton running gear.It also has brand new wheels and 35's.Most likely it won't sell this winter.I've been thinking about how sweet it would be to have that to beat on next summer. But I would have to get rid of one vehicle before adding another to the fleet.

I got my first Ford about 3 weeks ago. It's a beautiful 07 Blue & Gold 4x4 Screw. Love everything about it so far and hopefully it will give me just as many great times as many of you seem to have gotten from your first Fords.

My first was a 1980 F150 extended cab with 351 H.O./Auto. That truck was a beast. Was also the reason I lost my lisence for the first time. Mom caught me doing doughnuts in a parking lot. DOH!

As for first "new" Ford....Never had a new car. I let someone else drive it off the lot and pay that extra $$$.

My first Ford was a 73 Ford Econoline Van. It had a 302 with a 3speed on the column. After school we sometimes would head to an almost deserted roadway and have burnout contests....I could ALWAYS win them. That Van was amazing...and fast! After That I bought a '79 Mustang 4cylinder, with a 4 speed. It was dark blue, with a blue interior and NO A/C....I really don't know what I was thinking, but I was 18, I could deal with it....then my first BRAND NEW Ford was a 1984 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe!!! I have had some sweet Ford vehicles in my days!

Current Vehicles

2003 Ford Escape
2005 Ford F-150 scab 4x4 Lariat
2006 Ford Mustang GT (Auto)
2007 Ford Mustang GT (Manual)

The perfect Ford mix!
