Are you really supposed to get a tranny flush, and a coolant flush. I test my coolant mixture and add water or antifreeze as needed so I figure I don't need to flush the radiator. So the tranny is the only thing that concerns me, is it supposed to be flushed at 30,000 and if so what is required to do it yourself.

I recently had the 30K done even though I was about 1-2K short.

I did the whole shabang per Ford's recommendations [below] and walked out of the dealership $186.40 short.

Note: I supplied my own Mobil 1 5W-20, my own Mobil 1 oil filter, and asked them not to replace the airfilter [I have an S&B] and not to do the tire rotation.

Lets se here.
Change oil $30
Replace air filter $10 (Do it yourself)
Replace fuel filter $60
Flush trans fluid $120

Everything else is "Inspect" and they hardly ever do that, unless they believe it will lead to more work for them. So about $220 worth of work is all they are actually doing for $400

No you do not have the Torqshift. If you have the 5.4 I could have sworn that trans was only to be serviced at 100k check your manual

the F-150 doesn't require a transmission flush (4.6 or 5.4). the torqueshift is in Superduties (diesel).

You can do everything in that list in your driveway. Maybe cost you $50 in materials. Just keep reciepts and write it in your maintenance log.

yes, your mechanic can do it as well, just have the invoice spell out what was changed and save the invoice
