Wheel & Tire Shopping

So my truck's been in the shop for 5 weeks now getting repaired from an accident last month. I get a call at work today and had to go to the shop and meet with police because my wheels and tires had been stolen over the weekend. I was just inofrmed that their insurance is paying $2100 to replace the wheels & tires I had (I paid $2077 brand new, but that was a buy 3 get 1 free special on the tires). Shop said I could go a little higher if I wanted to and we could work out the difference.

So now I get to go wheel & tire shopping on the insurance's dime. Trying to decide should I stick with what I had (Helo Maxx 6's & Pro Comp Xtreme AT's) or should I switch it up and get something different. I really like the tires, but I love the look at the Nitto Mud Grapplers. Want to get something though that's going to last as long as the Pro Comp's were looking to last.

So should I stick with what I had or some combo or go a totally different way? What would you guys do? I'm thinking maybe the MM 951's because although everyone has them there's a reason and that's because they look good on our trucks. Not like out here in Hawaii there's alot of them anyways.

Those Mud Graps would look good with the Helo's or the MM's. I'd get M/T's though, if you don't have much of a commute to work, etc.

Yeah only have about a 6 mile round trip commute to work. I might put 300 miles a month on the truck. How do you like your MT's? How's the road noise? I have looked at many different styles of wheels today and I think I'm going back to the Helo Maxx 6's.

I love them, they are VERY quiet for a mud tire and are made of a pretty hard compound so they last a long time.

The Mud Grapplers are very loud and wear quickly. The Toyo MT's would be a much better choice.

Either Toyo M/T or the Cooper STT gets my vote.

I thought Maiui Offroad had a fenced lot? They aren't exactly in the best section of town, but c'mon, for your rims to get stolen there...wow

the best part is, there are only so many F-150's out here. and most are 4x2 that won't have the clearance to fit your tires. I'll bet those babies are on Craiglist right now...unless the Meth head couldn't wait for his fix

Im personally getting sick of my Helo`s. I would switch to a different rim but if you like the whole set up get it again.

I would hate to the clean the black rims above!! I also have the Helo's and if I were to do it all over again I would go with a set of KMC wheels. They have several styles that I really like. I wouldn't get the same wheels.

X2!! I would look at KMC's wheels or there is a new Moto Metal wheel that I really like, I think it is model 957. Actually here they are on Ebay, 18X9's with 35" Toyo M/T's. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18x9-...mZ330200205908

I liked the setup you had. Get the same one.

On a side note, shouldn't this be in the wheel and tire section or is it o.k. in the 04 to present? Since some people are sticklers I was just curious about post locations. It seems there's always more viewing here than anywhere else.

Be cool, only a question.

Personally, I like American Racing rims... like the Mojave Teflon rims...

Those would be sick rims for off roading with... I wish I could run 15" rims on the NBS F150s...
