Need Help please

Looking to Buy a New F150 since mine got totaled
What is the diffence between the 5.4 EFI V8 and the 5.4 FFV V8

E85 mileage is worse than unleaded with miles per gallon but when running unleaded - no different. Most people don't even know they bought the FFV engine until they go to the gas station for the first time and the gas cap is yellow. LOL

Wrong, my truck is E-85 capable and my gas cap is black

Doesn't mean I'm wrong - even seen here where owners realize they have a FFV when they fill up and see the yellow cap.

My cappy is black to (and yes I have FFV), but the writing on the cap saying FORD RECOMMENDS USING BP FUEL (something along this line anyways) is in yellow

My gas cap says ford recomands BP fuel and I don't have a flex fuel f-150

I think that was just an advert that BP payed Ford to use.

the only true way to tell your truck is FFV is the VIN

I'm also 99% sure that 2006 was the year that they started being FFV

oh yeah, to the OP: there is 0 difference between a normal and FFV engine performance wise. the internals are of different compounds since e85 is more corrosive than normal gas...not to mention it has less energy output than gasoline...that's why you get less MPG when running it.

My brother showed that to me when I first brought it home. He said his 02 Saleen had it on it as well.
