That is some of the best gas mileage out of a truck I have ever seen.

If you have one of the early ones, you will have to update it to get those features. If yours is updated, it is in the display setup section of the menu. Just choose which type of display and where you want to see it. I have mine set for a 4 way display with instant MPG on the lower left and average MPG on the lower right. Upper left is engine coolant temp and upper right is transmission temperature for my 4 displayed items.

On highway trips at 68MPH, I get 22.1 MPG and I'm Roushcharged.

That's the benefits of being lowered AND equipped with 2WD.

Now thats nice. Did you change your injectors? ^

I get about 19-21mpg at about 55, there is another sweet spot @ 73mph or so where I get 19ish.

That's the benefits of having an adequately 'underdriven' (gear reduction wise) truck, as well as spending too much on bolt-ons (shoulda bought a supercharger and gotten power with the mileage ).

I still do not understand how you guys with the 5.4 and 4x4 get over 16mpg? Doesnt matter how easy I am on the throttle i cant see that.

Stock injectors. The tire size is near stock. Street tires. You're getting pretty good mileage with those humungo donuts on there.

If I beat the ever living snot out the thing I'm still getting 13MPG and that means in the throttle the entire time.

Damn that's some impressive numbers Josiah. Would love to know what you did to achive that. I'm lucky to get 13 mpg. Last tank I calculated was 11.3.

I always set my cruise about 2mph above where I get best mileage, then hit the down arrow twice so it drops the cruise speed a few miles an hour and seems to take load off the truck, runs very good this way. To get 21 I'm usually drafting behind a big rig. But I would recommend doing e-fans, AF1 3.5, Edge and removing your cats and that's about it. I did not get as good mileage with my XCal2 I don't believe, but it was so long ago. 3.73's on 37's makes the truck so underdriven on the highway, if it were anymore underdriven I think I would bog so it's a good equilibrium. In town mileage is terrible, and thats no matter how I drive. I can't really get above 12 in town.

I did some drafting behind some trucks... works wonders... especially when you follow then for miles on end.
