going to carpet floor from rubber floor

I am thinking about getting carpet to replace the rubber floor i have in my truck. Has any one done this before? And if so how much of a pain is it if any? It looks pretty straight forward just take the seats out and the kick panels. And if someone has done do you have pictures of the before and after to see what it looks like.

I put carpet in mine. It makes it cosy feeling. I might take it out though - not too happy with the outcome. I did it myself with carpet from pep boys and a can of spray glue.

Probably going to rhino-line my floor next and get some nice floor mats instead.

The fitment in mine is pretty good. Took a lot of time to get it right.

You won't be dissapointed until the first time you get mud/dirt on it.

Wow... I didn't even realize they still made them without carpet. I was just talking about this the other day with someone... my Dad's old '85 F150 had the rubber flooring and it was so easy to clean.

Not to hi-jack your thread (sorry) but which models come with the rubber floor? On the FX4 I don't even think it was an option... but if it was I would probably have gotten the rubber floor so it was easier to clean.

I have the 2004 stx and I thought that is was really nice til it gets full of mud and dirt and what not. And the weird thing that i found with my truck is that it has leather seats but manual windows and locks. Leather and no power anything???? I guess the previous owner wanted it that way but i plan to have power windows and locks on it sooner or later.

My present truck is an XLT and came with carpet.

I really miss my ole '95 XL with the rubber floor liner. If it were me I would keep the rubber liner and just get some really nice heavy duty floor mats and call it a day.

Keep the rubber floors unless it just never sees any dirt/mud. .

I've got the rubber floors in my 05 STX and love them.

Being up north, a lot of sand and salt gets tracked into the truck... All it takes to get them looking new again is some water and a rag.

Dress it for an extra special appearance

I have done this on some of my past vehicles, one of which was a Ford truck, and my current 08 F150 is going to get some soon too. It's really not that hard but put out the good money and either get the premolded or get it from the dealer. Also, take the extra time and dyno mat the floor. Makes a world of difference. I have the rubber floor right now and when I bought my truck I told my wife "that sh** will be the first thing to be changed out!" meaning the rubber floor. I spilled a cup of coffee in the floor the next morning. Sure was easy to clean up.

I like my rubber floor...

Why?

Easy to clean and it's sanitized.
It does not leave odors in your truck when it gets dirty/wet.
It's heavy duty.
