Question anybody buy a 2008 f150 lately?

My 2001 F150 is about ready to be traded, bought it new, has 67K miles and the north east winter has started to take its toll on the underside. But its a good truck.

The local Ford lots are full of 08's, the 09's are coming, gas is $3.65 and rising.

Is a 2008 F150 a good truck?
I'm sure I could strike a good deal on a 08.

My dad has a 2008 F150 Scab (company truck) and its a great truck. Nothing fancy, just 4.6 auto, PW, PDL, Cruise and tilt. He had a 2005 same setup and this truck is alot better truck (better mileage and more power).

If I had to go buy a new vehicle today it would not be a truck with the gas prices the way they are. I'd get something that gets far better fuel mileage.

I just got one two months ago. A black scab XLT 5.4. Very happy. First time truck owner. I did find one spot on the paint that wasn't spectacular. I have the 3.55 gears, and I am already not fond of. Averaging 12.77 mpg...completely stock as of now. The ride is excellent.

I got mine on the X plan. If I were you I would figure out what that X plan price is = - 0.4 % of invoice in addition to incentives and make an offer slightly less than that. Dealerships are struggling to sell, so you could get a good deal if you are good at negotiation. Don't be afraid to walk off the lot.

I already have a economy car, a 93 Lincoln TC gets 28 mpg on the hwy low 20's around town. The F150 is for the winter & hauling stuff. Need one 4WD.

I bought a new '08 Limited back in March. I traded an '05 FX4 for it.
The new truck's ENGINE does run quieter and smoother than the '05 ever did, the rest is about the same.
I was debating the same thing as you, get a new '09 or go with the '08. In the end, I'm glad that I went with the '08. I really feel that they've got all the bugs worked out of this generation (04-08). And, you can get some decent deals from the dealers plus incentives from Ford. (you won't get these deals on a 2009)

If I was buying an 08 (I dont care about gas prices rising as of now) it would only be the Limited Lariat. If I couldnt get that one than I would just wait until the 09's come out but that is my personal preference.

I ordered an '08 SCab in November of last year - took delivery 5 weeks later. I have 7100 miles on her now with no problems at all except for the occassional squeak or two that are so intermittent that they are seemingly impossible to find. I'm very happy with my truck - so far the best truck I've ever owned. Very smooth, comfortable and easy to drive even in town. I got the backup camera option and that makes parking a breeze. I have the 5.4l w/3.72 rear end and 4WD. Gas mileage w/mixed driving has ranged from 11.6 to 16.4 - with the best mileage recorded two weeks ago after we came off the oxygenated fuel for the Spring/Summer.

I just bought my 08 FX4 Screw about a month ago. I am very pleased with my purchase. One of the smoothest and quietest trucks I have ever been in. If your not concerned with gas prices I would definately get an 08.

I bought my 08 Reg Cab STX with the 4.6L In April of this year. Power windows, mirrors, tint, alarm, and fog lights came with it. I love it! Gas is a bit high but you gotta pay to play. We got my wife an 08 Escape so I do have a more efficient method to get to and from work if the need arises. We both work at the same place so it fits us well. My truck was stickered 24K. I owed 6.8K on my trade. They gave me 11K off the truck and so I financed about 20.5K. Great deal.

I just ordered a 2008 Screw King Ranch. It should be in in about a week, or so. I have been driving F-250 diesel's since 1999, and the few F-150's I've mixed in (2005 and 2007) have been complete pleasures to drive over the Superduties... but then again, I commute about 1-1/2 hours each way to the tune of 50k+ a year plus personal driving/towing. Get a 2008 - they are heads and shoulders above your older slightly used model.

Got my new 08' FX4 3 weeks ago and love it! 1900 Miles and running smooth! Traded in my 04' with over 150,000 and didnt want to wait on the 09'....not a big fan of those......yet!

7,500 dollars in rebates and an A/Z plan price....couldnt pass it up. 39,490 sticker.....I paid 31,000 out the door.....and they took the junk Scorpions off and put on Good Year Silent Armors at no charge!

My 04' FX4 was the best truck I ever owned! Hopefully in 200,000 miles I can say that about this one!!

Good. You can have the hours, the commute, the headaches, and the loss of family time, too. It all comes as a package. The truck is a great reward, though.
