Regular cab center seatbelt on back wall...what years?

Ok, the stereo is going to get a makeover withing the next month or two and I have a few ideas to integrate it into the cab, making it look very sleek and 'sleeper' like.

My 2006 regular cab has the center seat belt bolted to the back wall, along with the interior trim panel on the back of the cab wall that is molded around this stupid seat belt. How much better is a belt that is a foot behind the passenger and takes up cargo area over a lap belt that has been used since before Gods time and works fine???

Ive noticed that some regular cabs (04 models that I know of) have a normal seat belt (like any other damn truck) that is just a lap belt coming from the seats, and none of that seatbelt chit on the rear wall. The plastic panel on the back wall is just a nice, completley flat piece.

Im wondering if anyone knows exactley what years they had this completly flat back panel. Its exactley what I need for my stereo renovation I keep telling myself.
Ive seen them in the 04s, but what about the 05s??? Was it just a half-way-through 04 deal or what? I need to know what years I can be keeping an eye out for.

Thanks.

PS, I checked Tasca for an 04 piece and it is 90 bucks, Im not really wanting to shell out almost a bill just for something that Im going to be hacking away on...so if anyone has a good idea of where I could get one for cheap that would be nice too

My '05 XLT has the wall mounted shoulder belt you speak of. I've never seen a NBS regular cab truck without it. If they were made, I'm thinking maybe only in a "stripper" XL model.....???

Maybe it was just an 04 thing then.

I would think a saftey thing like a seatbelt would be upgraded on all models, not just the higher XLT or FX4 models though....maybe you are right though.

I know I have seen it on a couple trucks on here, as well as around on the internet..

Bad pic, but good enough that you can see...no wall mount shoulder belt...

Awsome, thanks for the feedback guys...looks like Ill be looking for just an 04 model back panel.

I wish I had a rear slider But without the rattling/squeaking. Every truck I looked at up to this one had the slider.

seat belt on back wall

I belive that the reason it is there is a hook up for a child safety seat. Unlike the Scab and Screw models that use a tether to the rear cab below the rear window.

You dont want it. With the system pounding, the rattling get super annoying when its open. When its closed it doesnt rattle though.

Bummer....I was thinking once my back one gets broken out I would throw a slider in there. Maybe a nicer aftermarket one wouldnt be so bad?
