Fuel System TSB

I was just looking at the list of TSBs and found the following one for the fuel system:

Bulletin No: 08-2-9
Date of Bulletin: 04/04/2008

Summary Description:

ERRATIC FUEL GAUGE OPERATION - MIL ON --DTCS P040/P0463 OR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MODULE DTC B1201--VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 12/3/2007. *NJ

Does anyone know what this covers? I ask because my fuel gauge has crapped out.

High sulfur content in fuel. The "fix" is to tell the customer to change fuel brands and add a bottle of Chevron Techron to see if it helps any. That usually doesn't work, it takes a fuel sender to make things right again.

No, according to Ford, the sender is the last thing to be replaced.

So basically you go in and they tell you to put some fuel cleaner in and send you on your way. That sucks!

So if I replace the sending unit would that fix the fuel gauge? How hard is it to replace?
