giving the new 08s away

That way if your putting away $200 a month to save for a truck and have $2000 already saved, you can pay $500 a month from what you already have saved and continue to put that $200 away for four more months. You will have saved another $800 by the fifth month. Your six months out before you run out that money you saved up. Then you can continue to pay more than the monthly amount, at any amount your comfortable with.

They are good at it. I got weaseled out of $500 on this truck. I even expected it and looked for it but did not see it until later. It was hid in bonus and discounts. I still can't explain it.
I've seen them add your down payment to the price, then subtract it out in the down payment section for a net of 0 down. You have to watch close and double check those numbers.
It's easier to do on a new purchase because of all the discounts, bonus money, and cash back, and much easier with a lease.

Paid $26,500 for my 04 lariat crew with a $41k sticker at the end of 04. Also the new model is out so I can see why the prices are cheap and the economy is not so great. Looked for a left over 08 lariat and the best price I found was $28,500 (just ok). I think I will wait for a left over 09 due to the major improvements

FWIW, the sticker on my 08 lariat screw was $38,110.00, I know for a fact since its sitting on my desk, with the current promotion going on until 1/5/9, I paid $27k, my credit score was slightly over 800 and I had the cash to pay the full amount but put a substantial down and carried a note for $10k for 4 years. Good deal or not, I have had my truck for over a month and I still haven't gotten over the fact that I bought a new truck that cost almost what my Dad paid for his home back in the 50's....I suppose the older I get...
I also shopped Toyota and Nissan too but they were less than friendly on dealing at the time. Not much on a gm but did look at a GMC but it was 4k more for a comparable truck.
BTW, in 1980 I bought my first new truck, it was a Chevy Silverado and it was $6800 w/all power, at the time their wasn't any extended or crew cab unless it was a s/o for a construction type work truck

This mornings paper had loaded Lariat SC (3 of them for that price) for $20k. When the gas fiasco hit that dealer had about 500 new '08 F-150's in stock. This mornings paper had 3 XLT SC's for $17k+. They want bad to get rid of them. They have about 100 left. You can buy them at that price because I bought my '04 in July '04 for $21,500 and could have bought the same exact truck from them without the P/seat and Fogs for $20,000. Same dealer as above. These are LOADED incl. 5.4, LS, tow and all the rest of the goodies.
