You will seriously regret that 3" body lift.

why the increase of only 1"?

I think there's another member running 36's with that setup but on an OBS. I dont see why it wouldn't fit.

you can't properly design a body lift. they are flat out dangerous. You are extending the cab/bed bolts by 3" in length and placing more stress upon them.

little things like the steering column extensions...not to mention the bumpers aren't aligned anymore..so you lose tow capacity because of the bumper relocation.

a leveling kit is doing it 1/2 assed. a body lift is just asking for problems. If someone really needs more than 35" tires...they need a suspension lift.

Do it right, because something will break, and I personally wouldn't want a broken cab/body bolt while 4x4

Tylus- I understand your point of view......but I dont see why they would make something like a body lift if it was so easy to break. I personally dont see anything wrong with a body lift and I know plenty of people that have body lifts along with suspension and do some serious offroading and never had a problem with it.

i think he is wanting both the 2 1/2" spacer and 3" body lift. and with a similar to stock wheel you probly could get 36's with minor rubbing.

i have a body lift...it doesn't affect how much you can tow, if you have a towing package. It only affects your towing if you tow from your bumper. I'm pretty sure you can fit 36's with a body lift and leveling kit...I know someone who has that set up he just rubs when he hits bumps and rubs in reverse...

Body lifts are great as long as you can do it yourself. Labor to install them on our trucks is very expensive! Plus the kits for the 06+ are pushing $400

i have never been a fan of body lifts, but if done right, i wouldn't worry about breaking it. now if you use hockey pucks, then i'd been scared. my personal opinion is, we spend how much on our trucks initially to buy and then spend the least amount of money to lift them. yes i know we all can't blow money at the drop of a hat, but sometimes i think its better to wait and get what you really want and not settle for what you can afford now. thats just my 2 cents. and if you have a shop install your body lift, your almost spending the same amount as a suspension lift, find a buddy and get wrenching

tylus your all fire and brimstone man

To the O.P.
You arent going to lose any towing unless you tow from the bumper, and how would you tow from the bumper on a 5 1/2'' lifted truck on 36's?

If you want to do the body lift, don't let anyone talk you out of it, theres nothing wrong with them, just not what everybody thinks is cool. I will advise you to install yourself because I have had people tell me its about a grand to get it installed.

Thats what was turning me off too, didnt want to see the frame. But with our trucks they dont show a lot of frame with a body lift, especially if you have step bars. You can barely notice its a Body lift with gap guards installed and with step bars. I wish I could put a huge suspension lift on and go up to 8" of lift but in Michigan the rear bumper cant be over 28" and Im at about 23" now with just a leveling kit and 35's. So for me instead of spending alot on a sweet suspension lift that will probably put me over the top and get hasseled (cuz the cops are @$$holes around here), I think I would be ok with a BL FOR NOW. Plus I am in college in the city and dont do much offroading, yes I use my 4wd in the snow, but very little to no off-roading for me. Not that I wouldnt love to but no time and lack of a LEGAL spots limits me.

I don't believe you.

And all that work for a crap body lift JUST to clear tires one inch bigger. Yeah, doesnt seem real smart.
