Nope, I looked a couple in other colors prior to buying my new truck. Green's is the first I've ever seen with the options like he has; mirrors, fogs, etc.

Yeah, the dealer had two of them. $1,000 difference in MSRP. I would have taken either one, but preferred this one. The other one had plain steel wheels, bumper, no fog lights, no keyless entry, regular mirrors, no back tinted window, and no running boards. Otherwise they were the same truck. I would have thought the MSRP would have been much more different for that one having so many less options.

might have been 2006...but I'm 99% sure it started in 2007. pretty awesome idea IMO.

alot of companies/people need the space, but not the amenities and associated extra cost

Yeah, I'm guessing an XLT would have cost another 4-6 grand... I made the upgrades myself for much less then that.

Thanks bud... I made a new sig... actually got inspiration from yours... I had to do my name in green to honor my old Pacific Green 1998 Ford F-150, and my namesake on here. Yours is great also!

Thanks! It is a OEM replacement. The old one was the XL upper bumper valance that is just black texture, not painted. I bought a used one off eBay for like $65. It was maroon, missing a tab, and a bit of body damage, but I had a body shop fix up all of the visible spots, repaint it oxford white, and install it. I love it.

By the way... I was at Quik Trip the other night (regional gas station chain) and the attendant saw my truck from the front only. He had his black 06 XLT in the parking lot. He asked if mine was a Platinum.

Yeah, looks good.
I'll have to keep an eye out for one for my truck. I don't mind the black texture since my
truck is dark blue it doesn't stick out so much, but definitely looks better ptm the body. I don't know what Ford was thinking on that one (using black texture valance's).

Here is the one I bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2578&viewitem= I was wrong, it was not maroon. This one is for 06-08 F-150s. It came Fedex and was huge, but not in a box, just wrapped up. It cost about $400 for my body shop to paint and install it for me. $150 of that was the install. It has stayed on perfectly fine missing the one tab, and the gash cannot be seen because it hides away when the hood is closed.
