Well my truck lasted me a good 2-1/2 years

It looks like my F150 is probably toast. I've had it 2-1/2 years. Silas (my 2 yr old) and I were heading down to Murfreesboro yesterday while Laura (my wife) was at work. We were just a mile or so from getting into town on the fourlane. It was kinda raining and a little Honda CRX crossed the fourlane right in front of me without ever stopping. I tried everything in the world to miss the car. I was heading for the ditch to try and miss the CRX. I still hit him at about 50 mph and still ended up in the ditch. I basically tore the entire front end off of the CRX and spun him around where the back end hit my rear door. My airbags never went off which has me puzzled but am glad they didn't go off because they would have hurt me. Silas and I were both fine. It scared him a little. He was fine when "Mater" came to get Daddy's truck. It made it even worse when I discovered the driver to the other car had no license, no insurance, and is probably illegal. He never once came to ask if we were ok. Probably best on his part as I was extremely pissed. It won't surprise me if the truck is totaled. What I can tell has damage is as follows: both fenders, hood, grille, bumper, driver door, rear driver door, running board, core support, wheel, both control arms on driver side (both snapped), front frame horns are bent, control arm crossmember is bent, and a lot of other stuff. The driver side door only opens about 12" and once opened sits about 1-1/2" lower than the rear door. I think it'll get totaled as the value on the truck is only around $12K. I feel that there is more damage than that. It had just rolled over 100K miles. It was still a great truck. Luckily my Dad is from Murfreesboro so my uncle came over before Laura got there. He had it towed to his refridgeration business and it's locked up inside his gate right now until the insurance company tells me what to do with it. I'm thankful Silas and I neither one were hurt but man was I ever pissed off at the other driver. Check out the pics below.

Main thing is you and your child are ok but it sucks about the truck. Just remember when looking for a new ride that it does pay to have a truck when things like this happen.

Thats super ****ty.

But on the bright side, you were in a VERY safe vehicle that all in all didn't do to bad for a 50mph wreck. The other driver is VERY lucky you didn't T-Bone him as he probably wouldn't have been able to walk out of there.
Looks like the truck served you well, and thats pretty important when toting your family around..

Glad no one was hurt. Looks like the truck is probably toast but it did it's job absorbing the impact. Lucky the car you hit was so light too.

I'm glad y'all are ok!

I've have been through a similar wreck and after 3 weeks of "bickering", they -the insurance co- finally totaled the truck (when they found all the hidden stuff, that was broken)
I know how you feel, being pissed and all.......but you both walked away. That says a lot about these F150's! When I was T-Boned in my Silverado, I did NOT walk away...an ambulance hauled me away. That is why I bought a Ford! Will always be a Ford 'chick' now!

If the other driver was in fact an uninsured, no license having illegal then maybe it's too bad he wasn't able to walk away. I hate ****** illegal pieces of s%$t that drive whith no license and no insurance.

It is good to hear that you and your little one were ok.
