Question Proper jacking points??

This is the point were they (discount tire) lifted my truck. I have always seen them use the cross member behind the front wheels to jack it up but today they used this point. I know in the manual it says NOT to use the arms as lifting points but what about were they lifted it from?

I did not want to say anything before I know the answer to it

Should I be concreted?

Thanks again

Josh

Always use the frame............ and there are reinforced sections on the frame just for the jack points

You were right. Ford wants you to only use the frame rail as the jacking location point, not the control arm.

It's hard to tell from the pic but i doubt it, doesn't look like the tab is bent. If it starts to wander while driving then maybe alignment is off due to it but again doubt it

perfectly fine to jack there....are there better spots yes but nothing wrong from doing that. jacking it up under the controll ar, is perfectly fine too, but ford says that to cover their ***, because if done wrong the jack could slip

that little lip on my truck hits parking curbs, it perfectly fine

I usually use the middle of the front cross member that the A arm is attached to.

It's built Ford tough! You can jack that thing up from anywhere!

Granted that is not a Ford approved jacking point, but that is the point that I also use. If something gets F-ed up from jacking there then IMO it should not even be road worthy. Considering it is put of what holds front suspension together it should be one of the strongest points of the whole truck. It is going to take alot more force than just jacking the truck up from there to get the mounts to bend.
