The paint is fine. No problems, no rust, no orange peel.

I'm gonna have to dissagree w/everyone, my front bumper is starting to show surface rust from all the salt. When i bought my truck used, it was rusting around the fuel door but i sanded it and painted it.

as much as we bitch about the orange peel, ford wants it, and its not going anywhere. they use it to hide very minor imperfections in the sheet metal that composes the body.

if you were to wet sand the hell out of your truck, you might get it all out, but you're taking a chance at really messing up your paint.

I get a lot of that as well. It's more noticable on white trucks. It will come off if you clay it. Mines due, I just don't have the time or desire right now.

Ford paint is good, but one of the best?

Guys, orange peel is something you just have to deal with. Pretty much everything has orange peel anymore. BMW and Mercedes have it too.

I'm not sure it's applied on purpose though.

One of the best as in durability. And who cares about orange peel, it's paint not a mirror.

As a detailer, I would agree Ford paint is one of the best around. It's easy to maintain, and easy to work with. Can't say that for many others (BMW Jet Black? Mercedes Ceramiclear? Crazy soft Honda? You get the point...)

Really?

I care about orange peel, but there's not much you can do about it.
