been in there 2 times and believe me, you can do it with the bumper installed easily

there is a small 3-4" access hole on both of the frame horns near where the bolts are. I was very carefull to not disturb the backing plate inside the frame, and was able to get my fingers inside that access hole for the 1 I accidently mis-aligned
Now you tell me this!......................Oh Man!!!

You don't even need to stick your finger in there. The reason the back bolt hole is notched or slotted is so you can get the hook off without removing the bolt. The nuts on the backside are tied together with a metal strap.

All you need to do is,

remove front bolt,
loosen rear bolt,
slide off tow hook,
slide on new hook,
install front bolt, you may need to wiggle rear bolt to get nut in place for front bolt,
tighten rear bolt.

2 minutes tops per side.

Wow! I did so much work for nothing! (LOL)...At least I have experience with taking off the front bumper, & realigning it before , tightening the 4 huge bolts that hold it onto the frame! (LOL).....

Upload your pics into your gallery

click on the pic you want to post

right click on the pic and click on properties

in the new window that opens, copy the entire URL for the pic

when you make a post, there is an icon at the top, second from the right, that looks like a mountain, click on that

in the new window that appears, hit backspace to remove the http out of the address box, right click in the box and paste the URL you copied into that box, click ok

I would just load the pics to a photobucket account and then copy the IMG tag...very simple.

That was a very helpful post...

I'm sure they look great. I almost bought a set for my F250 on ebay from Heller Ford. They had a special on them, but I missed it. I'm glad I didn't, now that I am going to be removing them all together.
