I agree and would call BS on that tale as well. NOBODY is quick enough to spin it off without the oil dripping.

Jhartley is correct, that wrench is an excellent one. I have done it from the top since my 1st. oil change on the '04. I prefer it that way, and another thing, put a 1 qt. zip-lock bag around the filter when you start to unscrew it and it catches virtually all the oil- no mess on the underside of the truck. Although next time I think I'll use 2 bags because last Tues. I changed the oil and filter on my SIL's '07 and when I pulled the filter in the bag up out of there, I happened to hit the bag slightly on something and put a little hole in it and had to get that out of there in a hurry. Live and learn, it worked great up til that point.
