Which exhaust for my '04 4.6?
Sorry, tried to search, is the search feature just broken? I couldn't get any results.
________
Anyway....
I'm going to have to replace my exhaust soon, was under and noticed its starting to rust, so it's time to start planning.
I'm still running the stock exhaust, in fact everything on my truck is stock. The time for upgrades is at hand.
My truck is 4.6, 2wd, blah blah blah.
Looking for exhaust for performance sake and make a little bit of rumble.
No idea what I'm getting into since I've always run stock everything.
I assume dual exhaust is the way to go?
What do I need to consider as I start shopping for it?
I realize it sounds like I'm a noob to this... that's because I am.
Thanks in advance

How much are you looking to spend? Do you want dual pipes or 1 pipe out the back? How loud?
I had a 14" magnaflow SISO (Single in single out) welded in place of my stock muffler for about $100 out the door. It sounds great and has a very nice rumble driving around town. You could probably get new piping with that for another $50 if the old stuff is rusted.

I have the same set up as you. Stock, 2wd, 4.6 auto.
Bought it one owner used, and the girl that had it before put a Flowmaster (don't know what size it is) single in, duel out and it sounds awsome to me. But I am an old guy so what do I know except lots of the old people I hang out with tell me how healthy it sounds.
When crusing you can just hear it in the cab, just right to me. I love it.

If you like Flow-Master's I guess you'll like this. I gets old quickly and in the end it might hurt your performance, but if you value sound over power, then you might want to go this route.

Contrary to what most believe, Flow-Master restrict exhaust flow, most do. The inside of a common Flow-Master (everything besides the 10 series) has plates and chambers to make them sound the way they do. Mufflers like Magnaflow's, Corsa's, Borla's, etc are flow-through designs. No plates, just a perforated tube inside a case. This lets the exhaust gases flow through much easier than Restrict-Masters and the OEM muffler. If you cut open a Magnaflow and Flow-Master, you'll see how they compare. Flows sound better, but don't perform as well as the others.
Hopefully Darren will come in and correct me if I'm wrong on any points.

BTW this is all bolt on and I did it in my own drive way and I need to get another video because now that it is fully broken it... this exhaust sounds even deeper and I have gotten alot of complements on it.
